The Obvious Hiatus

Hola,
I've obviously abandoned my blog for the time being. I'm still crafting, there's just no time to post with summer school and getting married in FOUR weeks!!

Anyways, I'm determined to become a dedicated blogger...just not right now.

Goodbye for now!

Guestbook!

Here's my "guestbook" I took an old scrapbook someone gave me in high school and recovered it and stuck a fabric flower on it...

...then cut squares with my Cricut and adhered tiny envelopes...

People will write little "wishes" on business card-sized cards and stick them in the envelopes!

It's not complete yet, but I love how it's turning out!

The large green square will be for a picture.

Invitations: Complete!

I finally printed (one..by...one) my invitations! The RSVP card isn't green like it looks, it's really a soft turquoise.
(Identifying information has been removed, obviously (: )

Everybody's Doing It!

Well everyone has been making pretty jewelry holders and so I figure I'd jump on the bandwagon!

I didn't feel it needed a tutorial. All I did was prime, paint and poly some picture frames then cut hardware cloth to fit.

I still want to add some of these plaster flowers, but my Walmart is all out of Plaster of Paris.

Biggest Giveaway Ever

Okay, I'm new the blogsphere so I don't know if it's the biggest ever, but it's the biggest I've ever seen!

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

Hey all,
I'm determined to have a handstamped necklace to wear on my wedding...I need to decide soon though!

Suggestions are welcome, but here are the ones I like so far. Opinions?

Of course the 3rd is my favorite, but it's not very dressy.

It would have our names and our wedding date on it.

I know, I've been a horrible blogger this week, but I went home to Nashville to see family and now I am painfully broke! I did get my new Cricut cartridge while I was gone and our first wedding gift!

Homemade Products

Some homemade things I wanna try...

Why? Because I'm allergic to deodorant. Most deodorant has aluminum in it, which is what I'm allergic to. And it can't possible be good for your body!

What you need:

1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup corn starch or arrowroot powder
1/4 cup extra virgin coconut oil

Why? Because laundry soap is expensive!

What you need:
1/3 bar of Fels-Naptha or 1 bar of Ivory soap, grated

½ cup washing soda (found in the laundry aisle in most stores - Arm & Hammer makes it)

½ cup borax powder (also in the laundry aisle - look for "20 Mule Team" brand)

~You will also need a small bucket, about 2 gallon size~

Bird Silhouette Art + My Bedroom

I don't have pictures of the steps before this, but I bought picture frames and painted them all black and then cut scrapbook paper to fit each frame (step 1)

Step 2. Then find your image you're going to use for your silhouette. I found googling whatever image you want + color(ing) helps. Coloring sheets have clean simple lines to cut. Also, I recommend printing on cardstock.
Step 3. Cut the little friend out.

Step 4. Paint with black paint.

*bark* *whine* *bark* *whine*
He did this the ENTIRE time!

Step 5. Assemble in frame (I didn't glue or anything, because I like the ability to change out the paper)

Step 6. And finish! (I already had the others done for awhile now)
Yeah...I know bird silhouettes are old news, but I still love them!

Here's an old project I did. They flock each side of the bed and work as night lights.

Fun right?

The whole thing!

Recycled Wall Art

I need to put myself on a one-feature-blog-a-day limit.

...but we're not starting that today!

Look at this...

Beautiful right?

You'll never guess what it is...

TOILET/PAPER TOWEL ROLLS!

Amazing! ...and practically free

I can't wait to make this.
